Great location and view, staff needs better trained. Great location on the boardwalk. The view from the direct ocean front rooms is very nice. We typically come down each spring and fall. (Partial ocean views look mostly at the hotels next door, but you can see the ocean as well. I have never tried any other rooms there.) This latest booking… The reservation/desk staff need to better trained and better informed and some of them could be kinder. I made an online reservation and then needed to make a change/addition to it. The ladies did a poor job, duplicated the deposit charges and raised the rate on me (all in the same hour of the same day while bringing them more business.) These ladies didn’t just make mistakes (everyone does), but they also refused to admit them, raised their voice to me, were disrespectful and refused to look into the matter fully. It took me 4 days of phone calls, with different people telling me things that directly contradicted each other. Each call made things worse. Then, it took several email exchanges, with proof from my bank to get the issue resolved. Finally a kind, respectful, gentleman manager called me and straightened everything out (the rates and deposits are now correct) and I am looking forward to our upcoming visit.

We have been going to The Grand for quite a few years now. Every year we check-in as a gold member we ask for an upgrade if its available. This is the first year they wouldn't give us a better room which was disappointing. When I mentioned that, they said that the Gold doesn't offer an upgrade but showed them where it does when reading what you are offered online. Anyway that was a big disappointment. We also noticed the halls and rooms have deteriorated somewhat and rugs looked kinda dirty like it wasn't been kept up as well as in the past. With that said we love the location very much for ocean access, Broadway access and street location for some places we like to eat. We like the coffee shop and the pizza shop on the premises. We hope they clean up the halls and rooms and next time abide by Gold option of room upgrade. Otherwise remove it from Gold. Oh they also didn't offer us the free bag of goodies when we checked in. We had to ask for it a couple days into our stay. We did hear they had new front desk supervisor so don't know if that had anything to do with the stuff going on there.

So far so good. The only issue I have is with the girl at the Java juice place. We stood at the cash register for a good minute while the girl that works here stocked sugar. She saw us standing here and instead of stopping what she was doing to help us because WHOOOO needs to stock THAT MUCH SUGAR..... she continued stocking sugar. Sigh..... customer service is a lost art.

There was no breakfast option when we were there, even though the listing said there was. Staff closed the pool 35 minutes early. Stayed to play in the arcade and they tried closing it early as well we just ignored the staff as they had been slighty rude at check in. Half of the arcade game just games just took your money and thats it. The laundry vending machine was not stocked. Couldn't do any laundry. Staff couldn't restock. Every change machine and vending machine doesnt take anything over $10 bill. As a tourist with onoy $20's had to go to see front counter who could only exchange one bill. Supposed to be non-smoking. Our guests to the right smoked on the balcony therefore we couldnt keep our door open to let in the fresh ocean air.

The rooms are good but outdated. Linens are comfortable, but beds not as comfortable as they could be. Needs new rugs, paint, etc. But the location is wonderful. Balconies are large and offers privacy. I mean...just check out that sunrise!! Cracked the balcony door and slept to the sound of the waves. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend but just know it's not a new hotel. It just needs some refreshing. The restaurant/bar is a great place to watch a game and get a beer, but lots of fruit flies. Outdoor and indoor pools are pretty nice and the game room was actually excellent.

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years going to cruise week. Was pleasantly surprised when we got into our room this year and the carpet in the room was gone, in its place was luxury vinyl plank. Out of all the hotels we've stayed at over the years, this is by far the best, that's why I haven't contacted any other hotel the past 3 years when planning our trip for cruise in. Have recommended this hotel to others and will continue

Love that every room is ocean view. Rooms are nice and roomy. Wet bar, fridge, microwave and hair dryer in every room. Main reasturant is accommodating of dietary restrictions. Multiple dining options available on site. Right on the boardwalk.

Decent hotel. Decent prices! Clean. Friendly staff. Pool. Gym. Restaurant as well as bar. Restaurant spacious but long wait after you order food! Need more staffing. Same issue last year! Also some bar staff seemed bothered waiting on you! Nice beach and ocean view!

Hotel was nice, rooms clean and the staff very friendly. Ocean front rooms are excellent for views. Also something you usually lack in a hotel is great shower pressure, I was shocked how much pressure we had.
